How do online payments work?
JobSigner uses Stripe for card and bank (ACH) payments. Once your business completes Stripe’s activation, customers can pay from the invoice link. Money goes to your Stripe account, and the invoice balance updates automatically.
What does it cost to take payments online?
Stripe charges its standard processing fees. JobSigner adds a 0.5% platform fee to online card payments and a 0.5% fee to bank payments, capped at $10 per payment. Your business pays these from the payment; they are never added to your customer’s invoice. Cash, checks, and other payments you record yourself have no JobSigner fee.
Can I take a deposit before starting?
Yes. Send a deposit invoice when the quote is approved, then milestone or final invoices as the work goes. Each payment is recorded against its invoice, so you and your customer always see what’s left.
Can I record cash and checks?
Yes. Record cash, checks, and other payments received outside JobSigner, including partial payments. Each one updates the balance and can produce a receipt.
What happens with refunds?
Refunds on online payments are handled through Stripe and recorded on the invoice so your balances and reports stay accurate.
